Perquimans County High School has seen a recent spike in incidents involving student vaping. Vaping is an issue that is occurring at many schools and PCHS is not an exception. This issue is further complicated by the fact that there is a lot of misinformation and misunderstandings involving vaping and/or electronic cigarettes. The purpose of this letter is to make you aware of the issue, give you resources if you feel your child is leaning toward this type of behavior, as well as alert you to school and legal consequences if your child engages in vaping on school property. We take this issue very seriously because of the negative health effects vaping can have on our students. I find that our parents are often not aware of the risks surrounding vaping. The increase in vaping prompted me to do more research and I would like to share my findings.
